Project Fullfilled / Completed December 2023

2023 CTCT Heart Service  Project ~ COMPASSION IN ACTION ~ launching today October 15

Please relax and take a moment to read our story - for you .....
Re-igniting our special heart connections with the sangha of Tsum Rachen Nunnery

We are offering an opportunity to join as a like-minded community in the service of others, to recognize our innate goodness and display it openly with the generosity of a good heart - considering the happiness and well-being of others ~ seeking a positive activity engagement when all around us in the world seems in much disarray with discontent, disharmony, and immense suffering.

' Cultivating a close, warmhearted feeling for others automatically puts the mind at ease. From the least to the most important event, the affection and respect of others are vital for our happiness ' ~ His Holiness the Dalai Lama

A LITTLE CONTEXT ...
CTCT has a special connection with the Sangha of Rachen Nunnery and Mu Monastery in Tsum Valley bordering Tibet in North Eastern Nepal (a development project continuing under the guidance and care of our great Spiritual Friend Geshe Tenzin Zopa)
Following our extremely successful 2020-21 Compassion in Action project "Keeping our Tsum Sangha Warm" during the pandemic years,  we were able to organize and offer 65 Sanghas, nuns and monks, including Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche, Ken Rinpoche Geshe Choyni (Kopan Abbot) and H E Drukpa Rinpoche ( original caretaker of Tsum Nunnery and Monastery community) fully lined woolen winter cloaks - known as Dakum - the sangha use these warm wollen cloaks during long Pujas  and also wrap into in their beds during the cold snowy winter months of the high Himalayan region ~ the excellent quality of materials and craftsmanship in the making was such that they may last a lifetime for each Sangha member ~ the Dakums were delivered by donkey and mule ( a10 day road and trail journey from Kathmandu) to the Nunnery just as the first snows of the season began in 2021
The appreciation for this offering to each sangha was very great and deeply valued - each individual benefactor and sponsor and all CTCT community are included (for life) in prayers and daily Tara Puja dedications performed at Rachen Nunnery for long healthy life and happiness and well-being for all.

OUR AIM for this 2023 Service Project is to and enable  approximately 16 Nuns to travel to Bodhgaya, India to attend the teachings by His Holiness Dalia Lama scheduled in December /January
The Nuns will likely stay for 3-4 weeks performing practices and pujas at The Mahabodhi Stupa Temple - the site of Buddha's Enlightenment under the Bodhi tree.
It is a supremely special and rare occasion for these nuns to be able to travel from their remote nunnery to be in the presence of His Holiness Dalai Lama and receive the precious teachings he will be offering ~ an extraordinary highlight for their lives.
And each of us  can be a part of that very special time ~ sharing our abundance and generosity

OUR TARGET  is to raise a minimum of $3,200.00 ( extra nuns may join TBC )
Travel from Kathmandu by bus, one-month accommodation, and food will cost approx AU$200 per nun

Please join us in making this happen as swiftly as possible and thereby living our Bodhisattva attitude in positive action - in the service of others, in any small or large way that is suitable for you
Every single dollar donation is cherished and appreciated deeply

Each act of generosity, each offering, no matter the amount, with the motivation to care for others, is tremendously important towards accumulating the extensive merit required to be constantly connected with great teachers in the Dharma, like HHDL, from life to life, so that we can find the conditions for a most meaningful life, with peace, and happiness amongst like-minded friends and family.

All donations of any amount are welcomed with thanks from the bottom of our hearts

We hope sincerely we can swiftly realize our goal of supporting others with love and care in this way ~ it is our practice in action
