'In the Footsteps of Lama Serlingpa & Lama Atisha' Indonesian Pilgrimage 31 July - 15 August 2026
These 2 Pilgrimages have been fundraisers to sponsor a special project of installing 130 Shakyamuni Buddha Statues ( 10 in. height) around the base of the dome of the World Peace Stupa - each hand-carved from sandstone native to the area of Sarnath, Varanasi, India, where the Buddha turned the 1st Wheel of Dharma. The 130 statues represent the years His Holiness the Dalai Lama pledged to live - and they are dedicated especially for His Holiness long life and World peace. We have raised AU$20,000.00 required to create, install, and transport the statues to Tsum Valley due to the kind generosity of each pilgrim who has joined us on these Pilgrimages to the sacred sites in India and Indonesia in the inspirational and blessed company of Geshe Tenzin Zopa ~ each Pilgrim will enjoy immeasurable merit due to these connections together - one family in our heart wish for peace and well-being for all under the valid and impecccable guidance of Geshe Tenzin Zopa
The Stupa dome inside will be home to a beautiful, extensive Healing sanctuary space - dedicated for world peace and well being - an enormous Medicine Buddha Mandala is in progress being created by artists on the internal ceiling of the dome - the walls surrounding with life-size statues of the 8 Medicine Buddhas with Shakyamuni Buddha as the centre piece-a place for dedications, prayers and retreat, sending out the wishes and healing vibrations throughout the world.
This very special Stupa is being actualized due to the immeasurable generosity of sponsors and students of Geshe Tenzin Zopa from all around the globe.
